The Arona Committee of the Italian Red Cross from today has the Venture drone to accompany its work, the all-Italian, reliable and innovative technological tool; it is thanks to the sensor with high optical capabilities, gyroscopically stabilized, that it becomes possible to obtain the privileged point of view in all operations where reaching the critical scenario quickly is crucial to save lives.
Venture, the multirotor drone entirely designed and built in Turin, is configured to meet the needs of the Red Cross:
- High-visibility and easily identifiable institutional livery.
- Gyro-stabilized daylight optical sensor with 10x zoom, Full HD with the ability to save still images without interrupting video shooting.
- Full HD video saved on board and sent to the ground in real-time, on multiple, simultaneous receiving stations.
- Fully automatic flight planned over multiple waypoints, with automated room management.
- Rugged structure, foldable for easy transport.
The Venture drone is ready to fly in minutes and can be operated continuously throughout the day. The pilot has all the flight controls and simple, effective camera controls with differentiated action depending on the zoom level used. This makes camera operation particularly easy, precise and immediate. The batteries, which are quick-connect, are quickly replaced ensuring a minimum stop between flights.
The sensor is the real highlight of Venture; stabilized with brushless motors and encoders, it features Full HD camera coupled with 10x optical zoom. Full HD resolution video recording is done on-board on sd card, but real-time images can be viewed during flight on multiple ground stations that can be distributed to the various rescue teams engaged in operations. During video recording, high-resolution (14Mpx) photographs can be saved without interrupting filming.
Venture is monitored and controlled from the ground through multiple radio signals that ensure maximum security against signal loss and disturbances:
- Radio control for manual flight with dual links.
- Long-range point-to-point telemetry with advanced protection key, which does not require the use of unreliable WiFi technologies.
- Rugged, self-powered suitcase video/data receiving station featuring long battery life (8h).
- Dual telemetry reporting on pilot radio control and ground PC.
Venture’s structure is optimized for heavy-duty operations:
- Fully enclosed core body resistant to light rain, dust and shocks.
- High compactness characterized by quickly foldable arms: propellers are not removed for transport.
- Elastically suspended motors for vibration elimination.
