The first operational tests for agricultural applications have begun with great success. This is the distribution of biological treatment to control corn borer. Venture Surveyor, equipped with a special dispenser developed by Pro S3 UT, is able to fly in full autonomy releasing, upon reaching precise positions, the capsule containing the biological treatment of trichogramma brassicae. During this first test session, a ditributor capable of holding a limited number of capsules (c.a. 250) was used, with the aim of verifying that the capsules are released accurately and reliably. The basket containing the capsules is properly insulated to keep them at a sufficiently low temperature to prevent their activation during flight. The mission is fully automatic without any intervention by the operator, who is limited, in compliance with current regulations, to controlling the proper conduct of the flight by implementing appropriate safety measures in case of danger. The automatic flight system, is able to automatically activate the dispenser upon reaching the area to be treated, and then turn it off once the capsule release passage is finished. The flight planning, which is fully automated, is done within minutes through specially designed software. Having identified on the map (automatically downloaded from online servers such as Google Maps or Bing) the area to be treated, planning is done by drawing the polygon enclosing the field area. The automatically created flight schedule is then uploaded on board the drone and within minutes you are ready to fly. Flight schedules, can clearly be saved in special database and quickly recalled whenever repeat treatment is needed. Our unique planning methodology allows the drone to be realigned at the beginning of the various arms to ensure perfect and uniform treatment across the field.
