In contrast, <strong>fixed-wing drones cost more on average than multirotor d<\/strong> rones and need large areas free of obstacles to take off and land. Fixed-wing drones, therefore, are better suited for surveys of very large areas without large obstacles, requiring more flight time. In contrast, <strong>multirotor drones, although penalized by lower range and flight speed<\/strong>, feature wide versatility, thanks to the ability to take off and land vertically, as well as fly fixed-point. Unlike fixed-wing drones, multirotor drones are <strong>better suited for operations in confined spaces, in the presence of obstacles, whenever conventional takeoff and landing areas are not available. <\/strong>They are <strong>perfect for relief in tighter spaces<\/strong> (and in less extensive areas). Both fixed-wing and multirotor have their merits and demerits-why not combine the best of both types in one platform with <strong>a hybrid solution, such as ICON V2<\/strong>, our versatile, high-performance drone.
